Why do are favorite players become shot and suck ?

Why does this happen ? Many reasons but one thing I'm sick of hearing is their too old or making some sort of connection with their age and their decline in play.Lets take a look and discuss it,I have done some research on the subject and hopefully will be able to shed some light on it.

Ok we all know frank thomas was man not to long ago and is nothing like he was a few years ago,Why ? Well back to that age thing its not his birth age but its his baseball age.The base ball season is long and they play everyday, thomas really didint take care of himself and on top of that injury and inactivity has sapped his ability, when you dont train or do anything your body gos into decline and overtime takes away your ability, most athletes dont do the work it takes to stay fit when you get older......so right here is an example of what happens when you sit around and your body goes into decline, thomas has also had problems with weight another good sign of him not keeping fit leting himself get old.

OK basketball,Penny hardaway was the man but he had a bad knee injury that took away his ability, basketball is hell on the knees and ligaments. At the pro level it takes alot out of an athlete, pennys knee injury got worse over time because he was pushed to get back to soon and the stress of an nba season took ahold of a bad knee that never really got a chance to heal,he should have just took a whole year off and nurse that knee but he didint instead the
orlando magic organazation and fans pushed to get him back to soon and his knee was completely wrecked after a season or two and penny was labeled has a guy that took the magics money and ran, heres an example of a hard working guy who could never make it back becasue of injury and the physical stress of his sport.

ok football, well even highscool foot ball can wreck you at a young age,no wonder football playerw get shot quik, most running backs in the nfl have till their about 30 before they are wrecked even college football does alot of wear and tear on your knees and hips

In the end I dont think its so much age but how you take care of your self and stay fit, micheal jordan scored 50 points at the age of 40,he took care of himself and stayed in shape thou not letting age take hold of him.most 40 year old nba players at 40 are completely shot

So in conclusion, when a player gets hurt it lowers his ability to perform and if the injury is severe enough it can end his career.

Alert the press

its not that simple,I'm stating that proper rehab can bring a player back, many people forget micheal jordan broke his leg badly and came back to be the best basketball player ever....most guys are pushed to quickly to come back from injury, this happens alot

it is easier to come back from broken bones than ligament injuries. The rehab may be longer for some broken bones, but as long as you don't shatter your femur, you should be fine.

true that,I messed up my hand pretty good and tore some ligaments and it took a long to time to be pain free (5 months ) I could not hit a heavy bag or really do shit with it for the first month or so,I can recall only a handfull of guys that comeback from bad acl tears

Good point. But not all players get hurt and come back good.
