Jonathan Quick isn't heralded as being a great goaltender despite his impressive start to the season. They also need a more veterans in general. They're a young inexperienced team. So experience and goaltending I would say.

unless we win it this year it gets messy down the road. for example, we dont have a goalie next year, yet have to sign Coburn (who luckily is sucking balls this year), Parent, and maintain enough room to resign Giroux, Carter, Gagne the next year, though I would put money on it Gagne is gone by then

They need about 2 more years. They are the next Chicago, or Pittsburgh... whatever you want to call a team that bombed for SOOOOOOO long in order to acquire a ridiculous amount of top level draft picks.
I also think they need to get rid of Frolov and they also need a better #4 dman. Like Seb said they need a better goalie, but I think Quick is ok, I would assume if they improved the defence a bit and brought in a solid shutdown guy to play with Handzus they are laughing.

I know this will sound like whining but I wish the Canucks brass would just man the fuck up and give the 'C' to Ryan Kesler. The whole Goalie captain thing is so fucking gimmicky it makes me sick. Kesler is the next Brind Amour, I look at all these teams with their young stud Captains(Brown, Toews, Richards, Crosby). If guys like Brodeur and Roy made it without the Captain schtick I don't see why Luongo is any more special.

if he can stay healthy hes still a solid 35-40 goal guy i think, the problem seems to be keeping him healthy though, this training staff has to be the WORST staff in the league and yet year after year we have them coming back.
Gagne = Mini Lindros
On a side note, if anyone isn't betting against Carolina now would be a great time, no Cam Ward for a while, poor bastard got his leg cut up last night
