I agree with you there. The Jazz has shown time and time again that they have what it takes to beat the Hornets. For both the Jazz and the Hornets, their PG's make them go and D-Will is the only PG who has actually matched the play of Paul when they've played and these two young guards will determine who will win the series at the end. Here's their head to head stats in the four games (Jazz won 3 of the 4 games) and the player with the edge is in bold:
4 games.....................Chris Paul.......................Deron Williams
Pt/game.......................12.25........ ......................
16.75
Assist/game..................9.25.............. .................
11
Steals/game.................
2.75.................................1
FGM/%........................15/49 or 30.6%.................
27/47 or 57.4%
FTM/FT%.....................
18/22 or 81.8%..............8/12 or 66.7%
3PTM/%.......................1/8 or 12.5%....................
5/9 or 55.5%
So in their head to head match ups, Paul has "struggled" against the bigger Williams so if this happens to be the conference finals, the Jazz should take it. But it looks like the Jazz are struggling big time against the Lakers...and if the Lakers beat the Jazz, I'm not quite sure they can beat the Hornets due to their PG play unless Kobe takes the job of covering Paul.
