Tim Thomas has always been a huge underachiever. I remember when he and Kobe were the 2 best high school players in the nation. I looked up to these guys cuz I was playing high school ball at the time. Kobe went to the NBA and Tim went to Villanova. Due to his size I think most people(myself included) thought Tim would be the better pro.

Honestly, when Tim Thomas came into the league, he was supposed to be this great player and he never achieved that. He showed a ton of potential and was considered to be the best HS basketball player in the '95-'96, even better than Kobe Bryant by most scouts....that's saying something and now 10+ years later, Kobe is considered by most as the best NBA player right now and Tim Thomas is probably the 150th best player....if that. So he went from the best HS basketball player in the nation (better than Kobe) to not even a starter in the NBA.

To be honest, many people were saying Tim Thomas was going to be an all-time great and since he's just crap...it's fair to say that Tim Thomas should've ended up as an all-time great.

And I've already stated my stance on KG and Duncan.

Again don't assume anything about what I know about the league...I don't want to turn this into a flame war, but trust me, I know more about the history of the league and current league than you could wish to know.

He was 7th draft pick, and traded instantly for Keith Van Horn. And don't give me that shit that Kobe was drafted late either, Thomas actually played ball at Nova and wasn't coming straight from HS. He was amazing in HS no doubt, but then again, so was Telfair, Miles, Qrich and a host of other people.

Making a statement like that has to hold some weight and of course he had potential to be a great player, but I've never heard anyone retarded enough to say he could have been the best ever.

And I suppose Reggie Theus and Nate Jones are a bunch of idiots too huh?
