Malkin is going to stay for sure, but man oh man they ever going to be limited on who else they can put on the ice. With Malkin being Russian you can pretty much guarantee he goes looking for 9-10mil per season. So you have 18mil spend on Crosby and Malkin. 1/3 of your thats about 30% of your team tied up on a diver and Gino.

How come that diver ownts your POS team every time he plays them? And the Pens are about 10 mil under the cap so they will be fine giving Malkin 6-9mil

they should let me pick the team ,my penguins fantasy team pwns all.
I lowball the hell out of everyone and if someone has 1 year left on contract and is going to ask for a boatload of cash i trade them off for some young talent. Lock them in for 6years at less than 2mil and its all gravy

6-9? LOL buddy Malkin wont sign for anything under 8 guaranteed. Crosby does good because we head hunt him and piss him off
You need money to pay the rest of your players tho and Staal will be looking for a good payday once he finally comes on.
*edit* another reason he does well is because refs tend to call all his dives as slashes or trips. you can only have so many PP against until they score.

lol thats the way to do it. in 2K8 i have Richards and Carter signed for 10 years a piece at 1.6mil each. I then traded for Nashville's D and picked up some badass forwards. I am playing at around 30mil

Yea, I'm not really following you there when you say anything under 8 mil being that I included 8 and 9 mil as possible options. Yes 8 and 9 fall in between 6-9 as I originally posted. I have no clue what Staal is going to get. He had a really good rookie season as far as scoring goals is concerned, and not so great of a season this year. I'm guessing somewhere in between 2-5mil. This is why I'm not a GM

im not trolling, in fact i did some research on your team and u might be right about keeping them together.
Sid, 8.7
Malkin 8.5
Hossa 7.5
Malone 3.5
Staal 2.5
Sykora 2.5
Dupuis 1.2
Talbot 700k
Kennedy 700k
ufa 700k
ufa 700k
anouther ufa player 700k
12 forwards 35 mil
Gonchar 5
Scuds 1.2
Whit 4
Orpik 1.75
Letang .65
Gill 2
6 defenders 15 mil
Goalie
Fluery 3.5
backup 1
Goalies 4.5
that gives ya 55mil leaving you 1 mil in cap space for injuries and such.
as long as the CDN $ doesnt crash the team could stick around for a bit. mind you thats assuming Hossa wants to stay, and he takes a discount and its also assuming that Gino will take a discount at 8.5. if he goes to open market EDM will offer him 10-11 per easy
