Helloo!!!! You're down 3-1 in the Finals to the #1 team in the NHL! Oh and you're going back to their house, you know the one that you failed to score a single goal in the first 2 games.

He meant it more in the context that they lost 2-1 so it wasn't as if they got blown out. He needs to keep a poker face, he put it quite simply that they have no choice but to win the next game.
The only thing that sort of sounded delusional was his non-chalant downplaying of what Zetterberg did during that 5 on 3 basically dismissing it with a sort of "he didn't do anything out of the ordinary."

This is where I disagree. I'm not a HUGE Crosby fan but he already has the weight of the NHL on his back. Adding a captain C to his chest isn't going to break his back. And to the contrary, NHL insiders say that he's actually a good leader in the locker room. And you can't argue that he doesn't lead by example on the ice which is a trait that most leaders need. His play during game 3 showed that.
There are Captains who lead by quiet example, Niedermayer, Lidstrom etc. And then you have guys who are really vocal in the room, Messier, Iginla, Sundin etc.
