Alot of the reason behind the D being stacked is because you have bonafied Superstars like Lidstrom manning it.. Anyone who plays with Lids is automatically a better d-man.. Detroit also takes alot of time grooming there prospects. With kronwalls injury history and time in the AHL. alot of other teams would of already gave up on him.. Stewie was a good TD addition..

Chelios is just hockey smart, his skills are very diminished, But the fact he is soo smart he makes his line mate Lebda that much better. And believe me it takes alot to make Lebda look good.. Some how Cheli pulls it off..

Then behind that we are stacked with Depth.. Big Rig Jon Ericcsson.. Kyle Quincey.. Derek Meech.. ANDREAS LILJA.. Those 4 just sitting in the Suites are better then what the Flyers are putting out on the ice.. That says alot about Detroits player managment.. and the way they take there time to groom these players.. Next year it'll look alot different..

Lids/Raffi -- Kronner/Stewie -- BigRig/Quincey..

I see Lebda being shipped out TBH.. Cheli will finaly retire after hoisting the cup one last time.. Hasek will retire.. Lilja will go somewhere else in FA.. And im sure Detroit doesn't mind They needed to make room for Jon and Kyle. or else they would loose them anyway.. and i'd be a wasted investment.

Another point about the Wings depth.

Zetterberg and Datsyuk are both offensive powerhouses but are also Selke trophy nominees.
