I think you'll find it'll be Kimmo Timonen who will be pushing to play, not that they don't care about his health, and he certainly won't play unless a doctor gives him the ok to play

so was the fix in during both game 4's to generate more revenue. cause it just so happens both game 5's will be on NBC. the refs were horrible. somethin ain't right. maybe they wanted the pens and wings showcased on network TV finish up at home and promote the finals.

Isnt Smith your Captain and Deren your Alternate?

I gueese you gotta make room so Mikey can get his C.

Liles would be a great acquisition, He's a PP wizard on the blue line.. Roszi, i cant really speak on because i honestly havent seen him play much at all.. But if speed is what you want, I bet you the Wings would trade Meech and Lebda for Smith ;)

Smith is gone for sure and Hatcher is likely to retire. Parent will be getting moved up for sure, we need a #3 or #4 dman.

in other news, Kimmo is likely back for the next game now we just need braydon back and we can make some history

Liles would be great but we could never afford him. Flyers will trade for a dman and either the umbergler or knuble will a piece of the puzzle.

worst case scenario, if Gagne comes back as damaged goods we move him off to Mtl or Columbus for Streit and Higgins or for Klesla and picks

Yah isn't this the contract years for Carter Umberger and who else?

Anyway, I play roller hockey with about 20 folks every thursday. and yesterday these 2 guys rolled up who are huge Pens fans, and me and a couple 2ndary Flyers fans started chanting Flyers in 7.. good stuff..

Is this Smith's contract year btw? and how sure are you that he is moving on?

Contract year for a ton of Flyers...

From the players who got time with the big club this year, we've got minimum the following up for renewal:

Umberger, Carter, Jones, Smith, prospal, Modry, Thoreson, Potulny, Ruzicka, Dowd, Boulerice, Cote

I'd like to see Umberger, Carter, Jones, Thoreson, Dowd, and Cote all brought back. Unfortunately, that's gonna be impossible without trimming some salary from elsewhere in the lineup (specifically, getting rid of Knuble, Hatcher, Smith, Kapanen). It's all conjecture at this point, though, but I think Homer is a great GM and I'm confident that the players he brings back will be the right ones.

As for Smith's return to Philadelphia, there is no shot. Great competitor, but he's a little old and at this point, probably the weak link on the Flyers blue line.

kipos doctor gave him the green light and he said he had to wait to skate on it to know for sure, he anticipates numbness in his toes but i guess thats not a big deal. I think he will be fine, If they had any thoughts that the clot would break loose there is no way that they would clear him. His addition plus Colbourn possibly coming back and the winning of game 4......doubt fills the head of the penns

yep the flyers lost the first two games and split at home that's the way any team likes to start a series down 3-1 and going back to pitt. the flyers got the pens right where they want them now.
