Olajuwon had all the skill but didn't dominate like Shaq at all. Shaq, in his prime, was unstoppable. He's a center version of MJ. Once Shaq got the ball, it was practically over. Skill-wise, Olajuwon shits on Shaq but he didn't dominate like Shaq. Yao Ming has more skill than probably any Center in history but he is weak and plays weak and for that reason, Yao will never finish as a top 5 center, even though his basketball skills at the 5 position could warrant it.

How many 7+footers can do this on a fast break

Eddie Jones always comes to mind for underrated players. or maybe he should be considered as an under-performing player...

Mahmoud Abdul Rauf when he played with Denver back in the days. I remember this dude had a super quick release on his jumpshot and was instant offense. Not to mention he had tourrette syndrome yet still managed to be an effective player (at least in his Denver days he was).

As a Celtics fan besides Bird my all time favorite Celtic is Reggie Lewis. He was only 27 when he died and his career was just starting to flourish. #35 R.I.P

You're right.

But you are aware that defense is half the game, right? Shaq has been a pick and roll novice his whole career. And who would you want on the floor in crunch time? Shaq has always been a liability late in games. Anyways, if I consider the whole game of b-ball, I'd take Hakeem.

Danny Manning is a guy who comes to mind as being totally forgotten. He was solid for several years in the range of 16 - 23 ppg for the season every year, but the guy had a lot of injuries and fell off the map.

Tim Hardaway and Isaiah "J.R." Rider are two others that come to mind.

Reggie Lewis was a good player. The real loss for the Celtics is when they drafted Len Bias in the late 80's when the big 3/celtics were still young. If Len Bias would not of died bird and the celtics might of won a few more championships. He was drafted second in the 86 nba draft. He died 40 hours after the draft from cocaine.
