There was nothing that linked Andy to Clemens alleged steroid use, except for him recalling a conversation that he had with his friend.

All Andy had to do was say that he didn't remember anything regarding Clemens and steroid use. That is all. He could have even respectfully remained silent. I don't know what kind of friends you have, but my friends would not have said anything.
