NBA Draft 2008
#1 Draft pick goes to:
THE CHICAGO BULLS
Who takes Rose and who takes Beasley. There are good cases for both. I Like both players a lot, but Beasley seems to be the player that Chicago has been needing for years. Rose however is a player that you can start a franchise around. He's a natural leader and he's one of the best point guards to come out in the last 5 years. Who do you take if you are the Bulls. Or Trade??

I think they need to pick the player they think is best. A low post scorer is a HUGE need for them. But its not every day you have the first pick in the draft. If they think Rose is better, pick him and possibly trade for low post player.

I believe Rose will be the better player and should be the pick at #1. The Bulls have Hinrich, but I've never been sold on him as an elite PG - Rose will be amongst the top 5 PGs in the league come year 3 of his career. Plus, hes a local product and can be a face of the franchise akin to Lebron in Cleveland.
With Beasley, as talented as he is, he appears to be a 3/4 tweener because he hasnt filled out physically. He may eventually do that, but in an interior player I want someone with a nasty streak in him and will be willing to bang inside. Plus, you dont want to complicate your rotations further since you have Tyrus, Deng, and Noah waiting in the wings.
Draft Rose, then look to deal guys like Hinrich or Gordon for a banger inside who will alter shots like Erick Dampier or Anderson Varejao (both Dallas and Cleveland could use a player like Gordon to infuse some scoring talent imo).

a great pointguard is much harder to find than a great power forward.

As a Heat fan, I'm thrilled with either player. A forward tandem of Beasley and Marion would be sick, and I can't even imagine a backcourt of Rose and Wade.

Perfectly put......you practically changed my opinion on the two. What low post players are on the free agent market this offseason?

I'd prefer Rose, but you can't really go wrong with either.
But I don't think you can trade the pick away assuming no team is willing to deal a young, elite player. But who knows, probably end up with Durant some how.
I don't think the choice between Rose or Beasley is a difficult aspect of the bulls offseason. I truly believe it will be who they deal away and deal for after the draft to surround the rookie they choose that makes the biggest impact on the Bulls potential.
Honestly I havent been this stoked for the Bulls offseason since they drafted Deng and Gordon in the 1st. Even more excited because there definitely should be a lot of needed shakeup.
The Bulls have such good talent/potential with Deng(7th Overall) Hinrich(7th Overall) Gordon(3rd Overall) Thomas(4th Overall) and Noah(9th Overall) that just hasnt lived up to as good as it could have been. I expect some of them to be traded soon after we pick up Rose or Beasley. I wouldn't be surprised or too sad if any of them left. It will be nice to have a new look Bulls.
