I am from the outskirts of Manchester and there are quite a few United fans around here. They generally are the glory hunters though with very few who would still be supporting them were they languishing in division 1 obscurity like City were a few years ago.
They're like the default team to support for people who don't know anything about football. The worst ones are the girls who try to argue with you about football when the only reason they even started supporting Man U was because Beckham looked pretty in his shorts.
Most of my family support them with the rest supporting either City or Liverpool. I hate Utd so support a mixture of City and Liverpool in the prem but the mighty Bury FC are the team i go to watch.
