this isnt good news for clubs like the indians as i didnt see sizemore, martinez, perralta, lee or carmona anywhere but many clubs would pay big $$$ for them. wheres utley, rollins, wright, reyes, hanley ramirez and so many more??
all of those players are still in their arbitration years so they have not been out on the open market where you get money like this.

The Mariners define under acheiving every year. Tell me how a team with a healthy Griffey, Rodriguez, Edgar Martinez, Jay Buhner, and Randy Johnson, and I believe a young Jamie Moyer, Doesnt win a world series. Not to mention Joey Cora was even good back then.

It's Beltre. Beltran is the guy in the Mets. And yes, Beltre can be considered a king of the contract year and I suspect he was juicing at the time as well.

Beltre was definately juicing. The guy is the king of the warning track in Seattle.

I think his fastball is about 85 mph, and that don't cut it in the major league. Although he still has that nasty curve ball.

He was never that good. He played in Oakland which is a top 5 pitchers park. He was also only really effective in his first 2 starts against teams. WHen a team was seeing him for a 3rd, 4th, or 5th time they know how his curve is and are able to tee-off on it. Now the fact that his fastball is only 80 mph basically means he is fucked.

The giants are retired for signing him btw. There were huge signs he was done in his last 2 years in Oakland. he had one very good season, then everyone knew his stuff and he gets lit up.

I am assuming he stopped juicing since he is only 30 and there is no other reason he has lost 8 mph on his fast ball.
