I rank them as follows

PA
OH
NJ
NY.

New York has really taken off the past few years with a growing number of national qualifiers as well as All Americans.

Also when you look at states like Iowa and Minnesota you will notice there are only a couple of places to wrestling college, Iowa, Iowa State.

PA has a lot of division 1 wrestling programs. Penn State, U of Penn, Bloom, Pitt, Lock Haven, Lehigh, Drexel, East Stroudsburgh, Edinboro. Then you have all the division 2,3 and Juco schools like Pitt-Johnstown, Del-Val, Millersville and Kutztown.

Now if you conolidated all of that talent into two or three programs like other states I am sure that those schools would eb powershouses that rival Iowa, Iowa state, Oklahoma and oklahoma state.

I've trained in the states before. I have to work in the summers so I miss out on all the trips to the states. But I've wrestled Americans that have came here. One year I won the Montreal International and I was the only Canadian in my weight.

I was 34-7 in 3 years and 2 time City Champ. By the time I reached my Sophomore year they scratched the wrestling program from my school.

Tore ligaments in my ankle and leg during a challenge match. Injury's suck, I wasn't anything special but I was technical and strong just didn't have the cardio because I had to take it lightly on my ankle to compete at a top level. Once I got winded thats when I started losing.

No love for Iowa wrestling?

Jersey is up there but I'm shocked at the other states placed above the midwest...

I love wrestling and I do really well in practice but I guess I gotta be a smarter wrestler when it comes to getting on the mat with other top competition. I've only been doing it for a few years but took right to it. The kids I had to wrestle though did well in sectionals and I did alright against them. I plan on going from 189 to HW since cutting weight is a bitch so now I'm trying to get really strong and I'm sure I have better cardio than most of them.
