Dwight Howard out of Olympics with a stress fracture of the sternum.

Reports are he is injured. If it requires surgery, he could be out from 2-12 months if not, six weeks then rehab via strength training.

Another issue with this, are the players who were not selected, have scheduled plans for the summer. Many playing in summer leagues overseas, vacationing with families, or working with expensive personal trainers.

Vacation and working with personal trainers is no excuse for not playing for team USA. If the 2 best players in the world can find time to represent their country, then so can these other guys.

And for anyone who says they don't owe it to anyone to play, they do. I don't want to seem like some pseudo-patriot, but they owe it to the fans and the sport that lets them afford everything they have.

There were like 8-10 players who were in the running for team USA that flat out refused this year far before anyone except Bosh, Melo and Dwight (first three locks on every team USA until they retire) were even thought about.

I wouldnt play either, why risk injury and lose millions. I agree with Cuban entirely, and look at the ratings for the olympics Americans dont even care.

Going on vacation or winning a gold medal for your country?

It doesn't really seem a comparison, anybody with a fucking brain goes to the Olympics

A sternum stress fracture is one of the oddest injuries I have ever heard about.

Unfortunately, most of these guys don't have a fucking brain. They'd rather hang out with Little Wayne than go represent their country in the Olympics.
