Football is entertainment. There's already been complaints about the style of football that Chelsea play. Especially when you compare Grant to Jose. It's not enough to be good at your job. You have to be good on camera for marketing too.

Chelsea's football under Jose was equally dull. He was way more of a character though.

because Grant isnt going to attract decent players, and his style of football has been blasted... I think people are to hard on him, I believe it doesnt matter how bad or good you play, as long as you win, and wining is what they are doing... people just have a prob with him because he took the jose gig and is pretty much a nobody, and the press loved jose... so they give him a hard time, not the credit he deserves for doing more than jose could in the CL

That was what I was getting at - charisma comparison, rather than football comparison. Didn't make it clear oops.

I would say though, that until Chelsea bought Sheva and Ballack, they were pretty good to watch. Playing a 4-3-3 with Duff and Robben screaming down the flanks.

They were definitly better to watch weren't they. But I seem to remember that it was pretty rare that Duff and Robben were on the pitch at the same time for one reason or another.

It doesn't need a charismatic boss, but as somebody said, this is an entertainment business, Avram Grant just isn't the personality or presence that Jose Mourinho was. Even if they win the CL I think he'll go.

I'd personally stick with him, but I don't think they will

Barcelona got the "star desease". Its when a great team stars buying stars they dont need and it fcks their game. When Barca had Etoo and Ronaldinho as core players they were awesome but when Messi had his breakthrough and they bought Henry they got fckud.

Thats a nice theory, but it doesnt really hold water i my opinion. Barcelona were in basically the same position last season, but no one had cosidered to them to have bought any 'stars'.
