Actually, it is Gasol that deserves the credit. He seems to give hope to the team. Before, Kobe was talking crap about his team and he wanted to get traded. He wants to be the next Michael Jordan but he will never be like him

But it was sheer luck that Kobe got Gasol like that just like Garnet was given to the Celtics.

And it wasn't sheer luck that the Spurs got the #1 draft in '87 and '97 that landed them two of the best big men ever? __________________
