2008 NBA Finals - Lakers vs Celtics

This is the match the NBA wanted all along and now they've got it.

It'll be great for the sport and you can make an argument that the NBA Playoffs are officially back. This is a match up that'll get people to tune in.

With that being said. Who do you think takes it?.

I have the Lakers in 6. I should say 5.

The key guy in the series is Allen - if he doesnt show up, Lakers win in a romp.

Also note that the setup is 2-3-2 - its going to be huge for the Celtics to win the first two games at home because I dont think they make it back for game 6 if they split the first 2.

With that said, I say Celts in either 6 or 7.

Too bad the Celtics-Lakers matchups from the 80's were about 100x more intriguing than what this year brings.

Definitely the match up the NBA wanted. I guarantee it will be the highest rated finals series in a long time. I'm a Laker fan so of course I have the Lakers in six.

Backdoor sweep coming. Celtics win game 1 then Lakers win 4 straight.

I can't wait to watch Pierce and Kobe go at it.

This series really is all about match-ups. It depends on if Doc is a terrible coach or just an average one. If he is just average, than he should know what he has to do. He has to go big.

C- Perkins/PJ
F- KG
F-Posey
F-Pierce
G- Rondo

that lineup can exploit the Lakers usual rotation of

C- Gasol
F- Odom
F- random white scrub (Vlad or Walton)
G- Kobe
G- Fisher/ Sasha

since Perkins or PJ can out board Gasol and should be able to frustrate the mentally weak Gasol. KG will eat Odom and destroy his fragile psyche. Posey or Pierce will take advantage of having the whitey on them, while the other will be contained by Kobe's great D.

I am picking the Lakers because I am confident in Doc's inability to coach. Hopefully Doc gets fired after this year. I really want Pierce to win a championship, even if it has to be on the fucking Celtics.

but yea, Lakers in 5 because Doc Rivers sucks at life.

Kobe wins the championship, gets finals MVP, and moves one step closer to completing the Jordan Summer (MVP, NBA championship, FInals MVP, and winning the olympics).
