Another manufacturer leaves F1

Toyota the latest to join Formula One exodus - Planet-F1 News - from planet-f1.com

Looks like no Japanese teams in F1 for the time being. Sadly, all the money put into their F1 program produced moderate results. Looks like Sauber might get back into F1 again.

Its not a huge dent for the series, there are new teams coming in. Still, it is a bit poor. I could have understood Toyota pulling out before this season, but they've done well at certain tracks, and have an awesome young talent in Kobayashi.

Bernie Ecclestone was livid on the radio today. He claims that Toyota have signed a concorde agreement to comete in 2010, so we might not have heard the end of it.

The series is still very strong. Its a shame that scandals keep appearing, such as the lying/cheating/nazi orgies, but we've just seen a new track worth half a billion pounds, there is another new track for next season, we've got Manor and Lotus coming back and McLaren, Brawn and Red Bull were all on pace at the end of the season. Next season should be awesome.

I don't know if it even comes on TV here anymore.

Sucks that Kobayashi's F1 career might come to the end since Toyota pulled out and has no intentions to compete in GP2 due to funding. The only way his career continue is with the new teams (and I have a bad feeling him joining one of the new teams is only going to extend his career to only one).

Interesting that Toyota still signed the Concorde Agreement to compete next year despite knowing their F1 future isn't going to continue. I dunno if anyone wants to buy them since I can assume the price tag is going to be very high.

Also, while the new Yas Marina circuit looks nice, it sucks for racing. The new track for 2010 is going to suck as well since it's designed by the same person who designed all the modern F1 tracks, Herman Tilke. Finally, Lotus is now a Malaysian team. It's not going to be the same as the Lotus team my dad remembers.

Actually, i am a fan of some Herman Tilke designs. Istanbul's turn 8 is an awesome corner, and i quite like Sepang. The problem is that he designs quite similar tracks - it hard to tell Sepang from Istanbul from Bahrain. Yas Marina is ok, its more the incredible architecture and money that has gone into it than the actual racing design that makes it impressive.

There are much, much worse tracks on the calendar, some of them by Tilke. Valencia, Catalunya, Hungary and Singapore are all very poor tracks. I personally despise Monte Carlo.

Teams pulling out, potentially no British Grand Prix next year, nazi orgies....thank god for Brawn and Jensen.

It's like 4 times per year that it is tape delayed on Fox(after Fox is done with NASCAR in June) instead of being live on Speed. If memory serves me it was like the British, German, Hungarian, and either Turkey or European GP's this year.
