That was not my contention. There are two people in the world who averaged faster per 100M doing the 200M than Usain's current 100M record: Johnson and now Usain himself.
I was putting into perspective how fast a 19.34 or now a 19.30 is. Johnson's 1996 average per 100M was faster than the 2008 100M WR. An impressive accomplishment considering no one had ever matched that until Usain ran his 200 today.
People have managed faster times for the 100 with a running start. Bob Hayes is said to have run under 9 seconds for his leg in the 4x100 relay in 1964.
