i was just lookin at the racing forum and 1 1/4 is a long race i dont belive any of these horses have ran the distance. I can never bet the favourite so im hoping big brown will take the lead and im looking for a horse to come off the pace and take it. Right now colonel john, pyro and court vision are my best chances to catch him at the wire.

PS i was the one u started this thread in the mayberry

Keying is definitely the way to go if you can find the horse to key. Definitely good luck, hope you hit it!! My uncle actually runs some horses over at Churchill and his horse got into the winner cirle last year when I went with him and I got to have my pic taken with him and the horse in the winners circle. Bejarano was the jockey, nice guy, great jocky.

Yeah I tried to get that thread fired up but failed. Amyways, None of them have ran that distance. It is a very odd distance. Most of the have ran 1 1/16 and some 1/18. That is why im unsure of Big Brown. He is a speed horse on the outside of a 20 horse field, and it is a long race. If he does win, the Jockey deseves half that purse

1 1/4 is a long race, that's why typically the derby favors closers, unless your name is Secretariat lol jk. I have yet to see a forum, but I would like to see the horses previous finishing times in long races, 1 1/8. Derby winner will usually run the race in about 2 minutes, just a second or 2 over. But there are so many x factors in the derby, with a field this big, that its just too damn hard to logically handicap.

I dont have any times but the Majority of the horsed have ran and wont there last race @ 1 1/8. Eight Belles has not ran more then 1 1/16 so that worry's me, bit her last at that distance she won running away.

Oh for sure. Those are great cheap bets for fields like this. And as far as Eight Belles, She has not ran a 1 1/8 let alone a 1 1/4, but all her races she closed on the straight away and won so thats a good sign. And she is so pretty
