Is the gag that it's a foreign fighter comming out to an 80s song?
Lots of foreign fighters come out to odd 80s songs. Cro Cop comes out to Duran Duran.
Is there some kind of special meaning here that's lost on me?

Nothing special, a lot of people were asking about his intro so I put it up.

In Japan and Korea last name goes first. LOL
This is how it is usually done with Oriental cultures. The emphasis is on the family first before the individual.

Dong is fantastic, glad to see him continue winning. He could very well take this tournament.

I didn't watch the video, but just for you guys info
Chinese & Korean Names:
Often come with 3 syllables - E.G
Dong Sik Yoon - that's how an american would say it,
His name as it would be said in KOREAN is
Yoon Dong Sik.
Dong Sik is not middle name first name or first name middle name - rather, it is the whole first name. Like.. Mary Ann or something.
Japanese names are also said surname first - E.G
Gomi (Family Name) Takanori (First name)
Japanese names are made up of 4 japanese characters (usually) and in english will come as two words.
So if the guys earlier were saying that they called his name wrong because they called 'Yoon Dong Sik', it's not the announcer that's wrong, it's you.
