Yeah the teams have a mutual agreement to scale it back. Dishing out 500 million dollars is no longer the in thing to do. There have been teams running on less then 80 million dollars though. I'm sure they have sort of been weeded out, but still my guess is an average 200 million spend per team.
Now let's look at Nascar.

Ups, considering there are far more teams in Nascar, like two times as many, my guess is running Nascar is more expensive.
I think in just about everything else F-1 takes the cake, especially when you consider drivers .
F-1 is the Pride of race cars. Best performance and all, but Nascar is not the UFC. They struggle themselves. They should look into cutting back for the sake of all those poor GM shareholders, lol.
