Breen, most fans don't consider Maia to be up there in the "holy trinity" along with Jacare, Gracie, and Marcelo. But I believe he has beaten Jacare on points in a gi fight before.

He did. And while I wouldn't discredit Maia's win the way many do ("Oh, Jacare was tired", "Oh, advantages are gay", "The gi made it easy for Maia to stall"), it's grappling. Dudes lose in greater frequency than in MMA because of the nature of the beast.
