I tried Ulead video studio but it lags like crazy and is impossible to use on my computer. Anyone know any other good programs?

A lot of guys start using movie Maker then graduate to either Vegas or Ulead.

Can some one help me out here. Im using Ulead videostudio 11 and it works fine. The thing is .avi files lag which makes it tiresome to cut. Its easy to convert one fight into mpg, but when you are trying to get one fight from a 700mb file, it can take up to two hours to convert. Is it common for avi files to lag or is it my computer?

it does that for me too, what i do is convert all the footage i'm gonna use into WMV or mpeg in high quality, and then you can use the proxy file feature to make copies of what you're gonna use in lower quality so it's easier to use...

either just convert all the footage to hi quality mpeg-2 or convert them to hi quality wmv and use the proxy thing... if you need more help pm me

Got to find the right music or even the best cut video won't look as good.

I use Avidemux, Virtualdub, Super and Ulead Video Studio. All have different purposes.
