Icon4 How to make gifs with Ulead Gif Animator

Lately i haven't been able to satisfy gif requests like i was used to do, i don't have enough free time anymore, so here is a tutorial for all those people interested in gif making.
Remember guys, making gifs IT'S EASY, so don't be lazy and start creating your own gifs!

1) Get ULEAD GIF ANIMATOR

Buy it, download it etc.(if you have some problems PM me), i'm using version 5.

Ulead Gif Animator works with .avi files, once you have the .avi video click on the file menu--> open video --> click on the duration tab to choose which part of the video you want in your gif and the work is done!
In the edit menu you'll find the useful options that let you resize or cutting the gif.

2) Get DOWNLOAD HELPER

Download Helper it's an add-on for Mozilla Firefox, it's free (just google download helper) and it let's you download all videos you can find on streaming sites ( youtube, dailymotion, myspace etc.).
The video you'll download will be a .flv file, you'll have to convert it to open it with Ulead Gif Animator.

3) Get a Video Converter

I recommend AnyVideoConverter or Total Video Converter (if you have some problems in finding these programs PM me).
You''ll need one of those programs to convert the .flv videos you'll get from streaming video sites or to convert your videos that aren't .avi.

Roberto do you know how to put a colored border around a gif in ulead?
you mean something like this?

If it's like that, you have to open a picture of the color you wish as a border, insert the gif in this background -->file-->add image-->insert in the current frame(flag the box "distibute to individual frames...").
Click on the fist frame of the added gif, move it wherever you prefer-->right click on the inserted frame--->distibute to frames.
This will lock all the frames of your added gif in the same position on the background.
Then you only have to crop the canvas of the border untill you don't find the right size of your border.
It may look like a lot of job,but it's easier than what it seems!
Btw if you learn this process you can start to create gifs with little gifs in it, like these :

When doing gifs,

I have a background, and i added in a GIF,

I edit the size of the gif, how do i get the other frames of the gif to the same size?

Also when i move the gif, the sych feature doesnt work, how do move one frame of the gif, and have the other frames copy?
I resize gifs before.
When i add a gif i move the first frame of the inserted gif, then i right click on it and select "distribute to frames"

Otherwise you can do that using the "synchronize object across frames" option( menu frame--> synchronize object across frames ), this is how you should set it (in this case the gif has been added in the first frame.)

Rob, how do you do those special effects?

You know when one scene ends, and it goes onto the next one, itstead of just cutting to the next scene, it has a special effect, just the the gif above,

Im just got unlead and photoshop to both work, so i want to start making gifs again
click "video F/X" in the main menu on top.
There you''ll find all transitions and effects.

you're gonna have to tell me how to put text, when i try it it stops the gif. i been using the text banner and isn't comming the way your text does
right click on a frame-->add banner text-->frame control.
then set delay time and key frame delay = to the delay of the frames of your gif and flag the box "distribute to frames".
it's ok?

i have another advice for you,to get rid of those black stripes(those typical of movies) go to edit-->canvas size.
