Well Homer didn't really get "dumber", his character just got lamer. In fact he's probably not as dumb now... back in Season 5 and 6 there are classic Homer scenes like him looking for a peanut but finding a 20 dollar bill behind the couch and going "awww, I wanted a peanut!" and his brain goes "20 dollars can get many peanuts!" and he goes "explain how". so his brain replies "money can be exchanged for goods and services!"

Just classic stuff there.

Family Guy was great before they got cancelled, but it sucks now. It's just turned into a little 10 second skits compilation of "like the time when" / "more (adjevtive) than + pop culture reference".

Other than making the show just a series of pop culture references and taking away any plot or character development they also completely fucked up the Stewie character. The crux of his hilarity as a character used to be his evilness and English-ness. Now he's just gay. His character is way way less funny.

The same can be said about The Simpsons. It sucks now. They, similarly to Family Guy adn Stewie, ruined the Homer character. All he does now is "mmmmm.... (adjective)" and the "do ittttt" while shaking a fist thing.

Both suck now and used to be great, but The Simpsons was greater.

i'm not sure which simpsons seasons were which, but i agree that the first season of the simpsons sucks, and eventually they started sucking massively hard (i still can't believe people when they say it's still funny) and have been doing so for a long time. in the middle though (like when conan was writing for them) the simpsons was one of the funniest shows ever. and yeah, family guy isn't that funny.

and futurama sucks too, but it was never good.

I agree with yoru views on The Simpsons, Seasons 1 and 2 sucked, 3 - 8 were amazing (especially 5 and 6) and then it sucked since then except a few choice episodes like the YMCA one where Homer breaks his leg.

But you're way off on Futurama. Futurama was fucking great.

yeah, i know everybody else loves it, and i watched it a lot at one point too. but then i realized that i never enjoyed it and that i didn't think it was funny at all (except for the hypnotoad) and that too often it had some stupid message at the end or was supposed to be poignant. so i stopped watching it and started saying it sucked.

It was poignant at times IMO. The episode with Fry's dog waiting infront of the pizza parlour as the seasons changed and he aged and then died is heartwrenching unless you have no soul
