This is a very impressive highlight of Brandon Vera. It shows his superior striking and wrestling ability. Check out that standing switch into a suplex. That was very fast and powerful. There's only about a handful of MMA'ers who can pull that off. Most people overlook the fact that Vera is an accomplished Greco-Roman wrestler. Randy Couture wrestled against him a few times and was very impressed with his ability. Vera will join Randy Couture as the only fighter to win both the HW and LHW titles in the UFC.
Oh, BTW, Does anyone have a link to the Vera vs. Scherner fight? It should be ok to post it since it was on free TV.
I remember that fight going to the ground a few times; I just can't remember if Scherner was able to take Vera down. I'd be very impressed in Scherner was able to take down an Olympic-caliber wrestler like Vera.
I'm really excited to see Vera fight again, he really is awesome. I heard a rumor he would be fighting Paul Buentello next, anyone know if this is true?
