XFGear short review *pics*

Let me first thank Paul for some of the most personal customer service I have ever received. I told him I was competing in the Budweiser Jujitsu Nationals here in Charlotte and he put in some extra time to get me these shorts on such short notice. He really went the extra mile for me and that is the type of customer service that ranks up their with the best of the best. So now onto the shorts.

The material is super lightweight and super strong at the same time. It’s almost weird how light these shorts when compared to their strength in material and stitching. The XFGear site’s description of the shorts is they are “the combined qualities of board shorts, wrestling shorts, vale tudo shorts, and kickboxing shorts.” And they are a great blend of all of the above.

The waist fit well, I initially thought the waist was on the big side but Paul said to use the internal drawstring to really synch them down and get a secure fit. I gave it a shot and even during my tournament I had no problems with them moving around on me. He did say that they were modifying the waist on the next order so the medium that I have would actually sit abit tighter. But there is a lot of flexibility in the waist. Enough for a lot of sizes but not too much where the short is just too big for it’s size.

The four stretch panels are amazing. The movement you get in this short is as free as Vale tudo shorts, seriously. I tried everything from grappling to high kicks and had movement like my Vale tudo shorts. I don’t even think they need slits in the shorts for strikers. There is minimal riding of the shorts, they stayed at a pretty normal level the whole time I use them.

Like all of XFGear’s rashguards you can customize the shorts as well. I have not gotten all my designs together yet but when I get them Paul said I could make these things look like I want to. Their are rules to customizing of course but they are not as strict as I thought, so you can do a lot to these things to make them yours.

For fight shorts these are some of the best. A great blend of what is out there, definitely MMA shorts that is for sure. And personalized style. And these are only the 1st version/model of the shorts! Who knows what these guys are going to come up with next.

Here is the front of the short.

The side, look at the 4 stretch panels.

The back.

The waste, front and back.

The stitching, stretch panels, and printing.

PhenoM I would like to see the pics of your shorts too. You customized yours right? I would like to see how they turned out

Wow good review. One question you mention them fixing the looseness - if thats even a word - but what size pant do you wear and what size shorts are those?

I wear a 30' (which is alittle big, my true waist is somewhere around a 29) and these are a medium.

These shorts look awesome. Would be cool if they made a lopro model without all the advertising. They look top quality, which is what I think we all expect from XFGear.

I agree the only reason i wont buy a pair is because of the huge printing on the shorts, otherwise they look top notch. When the guys at xfgear decides to make a model with only the small xfgear logo on the shorts they will have a new customer.

They do make it with out the Comp graphics and that does tone it down a lot.

Here ya go, next pair will have PhenoM horizontally.

My only gripe with the shorts are the drawstrings. They are a bit flimsly, I would like to see them thicker and perhaps closer together, like maybe an inch or inch and a half apart.
