XFGear Gi Review *pics*

This is my first Gi review so please ask questions so I can better describe aspects of the Gi that I may leave out, but I have included a lot of pics so I hope they help. My first Gi was just a cheap Judo Gi from Tiger Claw that we got free from my school so that was just something to wear basically, so this is my first “real” Gi or at least really nice Gi . My mom got this from me and could not stop talking about how much Paul hooked her up, big surprise there right , so she sends her thanks Paul.

This is a double weave and man it is thick and strong, but not as stiff and cumbersome as I thought it would be. It is reinforced all over on the top and the pants also are reinforced down the legs, like most Gi pants with the patches on the knees but these are from the mid-quad down to the bottom. The inside of the Gi top is super comfortable, feels like brushed cotton, almost suede like. I usually don’t wear a shirt under my Gi so this was a very nice surprise. The color is not a solid bright blue, but almost faded with lighter spots. I love it, it give it a warn look and not like I’m a grappling noob with a brand new expensive Gi (no offence to any new comers to grappling, but I want my gear to reflect the time that I have put in).

The top and pants were on the big side out of the package and this I was not too happy about that, because I spent a lot of time with Paul sizing Gi’s along time ago. But he said just wash it a couple of times and then see what it feels like. After two washes it fit…”like a glove.” The patches are minimal but still stand out just enough to let you know what kind of Gi this is. I asked that the front patch not be put on (like on the gameness and most others) and Paul had absolutely no problem not putting the front patch on. I’m wanted to do my own thing for that spot and Paul even offered to help he with printing my patch design when I get it figured out.

So there it is, just some initial construction observations, Ill later update this with some experience in the Gi when I get to train for a couple of weeks in it. But from what I have seen and felt so far I think I’m going to love this thing.
Anticipating your questions about availability I called Paul and asked him about getting them since they are not on the site. He said that they just moved their facilities and have not had time to put them on the site but if anyone wants more info you can email him at info@xfgear.com
Any questions?

Here is the front of the Gi and the shoulder patches:

Here are the pants with the reinforcement running down the leg:

Here is the front tie system; my last pants did not have a loop in the middle, very nice and secures them better:

And here is some more reinforcing; this is the crotch area, plenty of room for a cup:

The gi looks good. How heavy is it? Also, does the back seam rub into your spine when you're on your back?

Adino, I have been up in the Harrisuburg area lately training at the Royce Network gym. My pops told me about your school today and told me to check you guys out. I have a few questions for you: I see you guys run a bunch of classes, how much would it be for unlimited? I would love to hit up every Hapkido (I love every form of grappling :p) and BJJ class I could go to. Also how is the turn out? You have a lot of people come? and my last question is how much live grappling do yall do? I might stop by next week, and BTW nice gi. I also got a new gi for x-mas. A Dax Moskito, a great Judo gi.

BTW you going to the Bud World Cup? Be sure to pre-reg, crap is expensie if you pay at the door :/

good questions. The Gi is not really heavy for being a double weave and you dont notice the weight when your wearing it, but it feels like 100lbs when wet that's for sure and to answeryour second question about the back seam it does not rub your spine. It is also brushed so it's just as soft at the rest of the Gi.

check your PM box Masakatsu

The gi looks good.

Masakatsu good choice with the DAX, it's a killer Judo gi at a great price.

Adino has all the luck. Why doesn't anyone send me anything to review?

The pinstripe shin stitching looks odd.
