I just got a pair of the new Madflex Fight Trunks from Madcor. What I liked about these shorts is that the design is unique and attractive. What makes them especially unique is that in the area on the side of the thighs where most shorts have a slit, these shorts have a wetsuit-neoprene-like material that gives you flexibility and comfort. Don't think anyone else has anything similar. The Hitman recon shorts are pretty flexible and durable all over. These are too but that neoprene material on the side makes them even more flexible without that slit-thigh look.

The fit is very true to size. There are no drawstrings and so you want to get the right size.

They're also a little pricier than average but in light of the appealing design, overall comfort/durability, and the neoprene side panel, I'd say they're worth it.

Stretch panels on the sides aren't really unique to these shorts. BTT Shock "X-Flex" shorts have a similar stretch panel on the side of their shorts, and even a more well-known brand like Clinch Gear.

Thanks for the heads up. It's not just the fact of having the stretch panel but that they're made of wetsuit-like material. Coming from a surfing background, I appreciate the durability and flexibility of it.

that's understandable.

my first concern is the quality of the gear and all the madcor stuff i've bought has been as good or better than even many of the name brands out there. their t-shirts, for example, are soft and buttery, and i haven't seen many shirts that feel as good as theirs for the same price range ($30-$40).

the second issue for me is that i'd prefer some not so well known names if the quality is as good or better.

bottom line, i'll pay a little extra for quality and originality. living in Huntington Beach, wearing fight gear is getting as common as wearing surf gear.

At $70, these are more into the price range of NoGi Brazil's Vitor Belfort shorts, and like those shorts they also don't have a drawstring.

Currently, even Sprawl's most expensive short, the Gripflex line, is nearly 20 bucks cheaper. Even Warrior Wear can be had for $55 at most places I looked.

I'm all for people wanting originality and trying new brands. In the STAGR shorts thread, I supported the guy's decision to try them if he had the cash to spare (they were still $60 at the time). So if binsu or anyone want to give these a go, then great. Personally, I think they're a little overpriced like the Belfort shorts, and I'm very confident in the quality of cheaper shorts (which aren't really that cheap) like Sprawls and Hitman, of which I just purchased a pair during the sale for $40 each.
