Top Contender Classic hook&loop 16OZ training gloves

I got 2 pairs these http://ringside.com/DETAIL.ASPX?ID=25084 at Ringside. I have to compliment their service, the item was on backorder, when I got the email, I phoned them and a very nice clerk helped me to calculate shipping after which I decided to get Bomber headgear (shipping total was 2 bucks more with the head gear). The package arrived exactly 14 days later (I'm in Croatia).
Now for the review:
-gloves are made out of soft, leather, that doesn't need breaking in and padding is OK, but it'll probably get better after some more use.
-there's maybe a bit too much room in the glove itself, but I have small hands and my sparring buddies that used them didn't complain about them being loose or anything.
-lining is very nice in these gloves, especially compared to crap I wore before.
-big wide velcro hook&loop closure provides pretty good wrist support.
-sparring: well, I got these for sparring only, and I can say this -while getting hit still sucks, it sucked waaay more with el crapo gloves we used before.

Its a great glove especially considering the price.

My gym carries these gloves as community gloves. They're okay but sound much better than your "elcrapo" gloves. What were they BTW? The only complaint I have with these are they are very wide and oversized for almost everyone's hand.

el crapo= generic synthetic leather gloves.
They weren't even labeled.

In my experience synthetic leather is either too soft, too hard and always rips at the stitches at the base of the thumb. Plus the padding is always abysmal.
