SSF, do you think there would be a place for a glove withthis special type of padding that the primetime's use but in a thicker style like the shooto's? I think that would be AWESOME

Well as I approach teh 2 month mark my opinion remains unchanged. These gloves are a quality peice of euipment. They've been used about 4 hours a week for the last 2 months and I have nothing negitive to report. All the velcro is still sticky as ever. The leather still is rich and uncracked. And the padding still will take a beating.

In fact I am considering the purchase of another pair cause I'm sick of getting hit with 5oz gloves. CSI it seems had a sale on their 5oz comp gloves and several people bought them and are now using them. Although not at full blast they still bruise and I'm not afraid to say it they hurt. So since people always want to borrow my SSF's I'd just get a second pair so I can get hit with them full time.

I am not saying this glove doesn't make a point when you land with it. because it will. In fact I got a very unintentional KO with a short right hand a couple of weeks ago that my partner walked into. It wasn't thrown hard just happened to land perfectly. They feel very solid but don't abuse like some other MMA gloves

No I don't hit pads with these. I stick to my Ringside Super Bag gloves.

I do have some finish wear on the wrist straps now. We had to start taping gloves at the gym. Some people had some Title and ringside gloves that the velcro wasn't so good on. SO we got a whole lot of stratches with them, so now everybody tapes the wrist straps. I never had a problem with the SSFs though but rules are rules.

The tape has just pulled the shiny off the leather. NOt actualy hurt the gloves at all. The guys using fairtex gloves also have not had velcro problems.

Used these gloves yesterday for GNP work and some sparing... pretty neat and I can throw up to 30% without having to hear any complaints from my sparing partner whatsoever.

pad drills were pretty ok too but I started out with the softer pads and I'll move to the tougher pads once they stat getting worn in

Thanks for the update, these sound tempting. I'm torn between these and the Cageside MMA Safety Training Gloves, anyone have an opinion?

You can't go wrong with either in terms of quality, so it depends on what style of glove you want. Cageside MMA safety training gloves are shooto style padded with a thumb protector and these Primetimes are more compact with an open thumb design. Go with your style preference.

definitely go with your preference. I have these and a pair of CSI training gloves as well.

Honestly, the CSIs are my fave but let's give it a month of two to see if my mind will change sine the SSfs are pretty sweet
