Sprawl XT V-Flex vs Truth Boardshorts V.3

This is my first review here on so don't be so harsch but please tell me what's good and bad.
also sorry for being so slow with the review/comparison. I will add pics in time or if anyone requests them

I am 170 cm and 70 - 72 kg for reference (that's 5.55 and 160 pounds)

Delivery and Customer service: both were very fast with about only a week for it to arrive. Paul was a bit tricky to get hold of but when you find him he is really helpful and nice. Sprawl... Do I need to say anything about their customer service? It's simply amazing everytime I've needed help when I shop or deal with them they've always been polite and helpfull. Sprawls are also very quick on response. I actually got the old modell of the shorts first so Craig sent me a pair of new and let me keep the "old ones" for the inconvinience which was really generous. SO if if you think about it Sprawl really pushed to make me happy even though I didn't even buy anything this time. I've shopped with Sprawl before and they have actually always been ridicolous fast with responses.

Sizing: I measured myself and I am 33 inches around and both 32 fits me well. Actually the Truths are a tad to long for me but that is because I am rather short other than that I like the fit. Heard Arclight the owner of truthwear is gonna shorten them a bit so that is good for short guys like me but that will happen later anyway. Both shorts are kind of baggy cut (based on my own experience) and allows a cup without any problem. When you compare the two the only sizing difference is that truths are about an half inch longer or so.

Mouth guard pocket: This is only featured in the Sprawl shorts and is probably a nice feature for those who use it. It's bigger and placed longer up on the shorts than the previous version. I've never actually used this pocket so I have nothing to say more than it LOOKS more conveniently placed

Split seam vs extra flex panels: Here both things has there pros and cons. The Flex panels holds the shorts together which prevents them to bunch up as much when you're on your back, but the split seams allows the shorts to follow up with your movements with no resistance at all. Either one of these shorts are gonna allow total freedom the only major difference is style and preference. I dislike the splitseam on the sprawls because they bunch up on me

Waist and Closure: The waist and closure on the truths and sprawls are very similiar. The main difference is that the waistband on the truths are more tight per default so that the hug to your body more, some people may like it others may not. Both shorts can be worn if your one size up or one down because of the waiststring (I would say you could actually wear them both even if your two sizes off).

Stitching: I am really picky with the stitching and I found that the stitching was loose on some places on the truths it was mostly at the inside of the waistband.

Fabric and stretch: The inner fabric on the Sprawls are simply amazing, it's really smooth and feels like satin. Truths inner fabric has the same material as the outside which isn't bad but since I'm used to my sprawls they were not as smooth in the beginning, now I hardly notice it. The fabric on the Sprawls are lighter and thinner but it seems really durable. The truths fabric are also much more porous which let's air flow through easily. The fabric on the truths are also a bit more flexible in general and the stretch panels are thicker.

Pricing: The Truths are a lot cheaper than the sprawls and simply can't be beaten in the most bang for the buck. But If you decide to buy the Sprawls they aren't that expensive considering other what other company takes for their shorts.

my own opinion: I actually like the truths more for grappling and the only real reason is that they don't bunch up so much on me. If I'm doing standup I prefer the sprawls. I'd recommend you to buy the truths if you're low on cash and need nice shorts but if you decide to buy sprawls instead it's still well spent money

Summery:

Truths
Pros: Incredible Price
no movement restriction
Almost compareble with sprawls in terms of function

Cons: Minor stitching issues
No Innerlining

Sprawls
Pros: "Satin innerlinning"
Really light
No resistance or restriction in movement at all
Great and I mean great Customer service

Cons: More expensive than the truths
bunches up when your under

Where to buy?
The Sprawls are sold on many places but I recommend to deal directly with them since it's most often cheaper and their customer services is great.

the Truths I bought directly from their homepage which was the only place I could find, which was fine too

I would like to thank Sprawl for the free shorts. If anyone has any questions or would like to see any other pics just let me know. Also if you have either or both of this shorts and your opinion differs please add your opinion here so people may see different points of view. Also extra cred to Craig at sprawl for helping out.

Thanks for a good comparison! I have two questions I'm curious about:

1. How would you compare the breathability of the fabric of the two shorts? For example, if you put your lips up against the fabric and blow, which fabric feels more breathable?

2. For the 32's in the Truths, about how many cm would you remove from the length to make it fall at your mid-knee?

Thanks.

1. Ah good point! didn't notice it before you mentioned it but the truth seems much more breathable.

2. for me 1 cm would do the trick(if you planned on mid knee but also I'm pretty short). but I like my shorts a bit shorter than most people so I'm not sure if it's necessary to shorten them (think of all the poor tall people )

also thanks for great shorts at a great price! I still want some of your gloves... damn they went fast when they were in stock...
