Sprawl V Flex Review

I purchased a pair of Sprawl V Flex Competition shorts for my brothers 30th birthday. Before I hand them to him I wanted to write a quick review.

The shorts are size 40. The shorts are better than what I expected. I am sure he will be very happy with them.

He should be able to adjust the waistband once he looses some weight. But he does like baggy shorts.

Tripple stitched

Flex panel

In comparison here are some grappling short I purchased from MMA Universe about 4 months ago. Other than the logos (which are starting to peel off), I love these things

Stitching is also similar.

Waistband system. I like the drawstrings on these a lot more. They seem more durable. They are also bi -directional like the Sprawls. However, the waitband is not elastic. They are very adjustable though. I was a size 36 when I bought them and now I am wearing a 32. I can adjust them perfectly.

These also have a flex panel like the Sprawls

Although my shorts work well, I plan to get a pair of sprawls next month for my birthday.

I was able to peel off must of the print on my shorts. I will wash them a few more times and I bet I will be able to peel all of them off.

From my experience they do fit true to size but they are very adjustable and accomodating to a range of sizes. Without adjusting the velcro or cinching the drawstring I'd say the sprawls fit very close to my normal clothes of the same waist size.

He tried them on yesterday. He likes baggy shorts and they were a perfect fit. They are so adjustable I am sure he will still be able to use them even if he lost 15-20 pounds. If they are too big later on, I will just have them altered.

My Sprawl V flexes are still the best shorts I've ever rolled in. My main pair is a size 36 in the brown that are relatively loose on me (went from 215 to 195 since I bought them) but but still fit perfect with the draw string tied tighter. Bought them about 10 months ago and they've held up perfectly.

i also have a pair of 40s that i bought new off a buddy at the gym for 20 bucks in white about 6 months ago, i've rolled in those before and even though they're big and tend to move horizontally they're still worth the money. They're mainly my backup pair though in case I don't get around to washing my browns (only roll no gi once per week).

So yeah, I love sprawls.
