Rival RB1 an hayabusa sparring gloves

(busa pictures and review in another thread, sorry)

this probably wont be the best written and most informative review ever but oh well...
first is the Rival RB1's...i wasnt sure wich to get, the RB1's or the RB20's, i went for the 12oz rb1's just to try something different in the "freeman microfibre", rival says its tougher then leather, i asked about hitting canvas bags with them too and they said go ahead without worries vs from my experience with leather gloves where the canvas tends to take a toll on them...i dont hit any canvas bags, but just in case i guess, i dunno...also i read some reviews on the rb20's where some people liked the ergo strap system and other didnt, but i read no complaints about the rb1's wrist lock system...so anyways, i got them from titleboxing, they came fast and i tried them out right away, they look great for sure, the wrist lock i thought was great, with the cheaper gloves the velcro strap can be tough to get tight after you have ur first glove on, the wrist lock system helps with that since u can pull it tight through the first part, then back around onto the velcro with ur teeth fairly tight...the microfibre doesnt seem any dif so far, but ive only put a couple rounds on the heavy bag on them, they show no signs of wear, but for how new they still are, no glove should, i guess we will find out with much more use...they are very comfortable, i havent put on many other pairs of bag gloves besides cheap century boxing or everlast ones and theres really no comparison on quality and comfort, i have nothing negative to really say about these, i dont have alot of time in them, but hopefully my thoughts on them dont change...heres some pictures...

heres the wrist lock system, it goes thru the loop, then back around and velcros up on the top, you can get them pretty tight without having someone else hook em for you

top view not velcrod tight

Nice review. A buddy of mine uses the Rivals as well and likes them. They look solid.

its a pretty simple concept that really works well, its something that wouldnt cost alot to add onto cheaper gloves to make them alittle better and more apealing to people to who dont want to drop alot of cash on bag gloves

I own the Rival Bag gloves and they are great. The nylon wriststrap is superior to elastic in my opinion cuz it can be pulled tighter and won't ever lose it's tensile strength.

Hey TS, in your opinion, are the Hayabusa Sparring gloves really too firm/hard for intense sparring like other posters here have said? I want to get them, but not if they end up being used as bag gloves.

i havent been hit by them, they feel great throwing them though, on pads, bags, body and face...the guy ive sparred against with them isnt the complaining type, i could tape bricks to my hand and use em as gloves and hed just deal with it and not say anything bout it, so i cant really honestly answer it...even if they are hard id assume theyd soften up alittle over time...they do have a bag glove esque to them, just heavier/bigger/better feel...

cliffnotes - havent been hit by them so i dunno..sorry man
