Ringside Ultimate Classic Review

Ok well i have been meaning to do this for awhile and got lazy, but i saw people talking about the ringsides so i figured now would be a good time to get it done.
First off what they are where i got them:
The gloves are the from the Ultimate Classic line of ringside which is their upper end gloves.
Ultimate Training Gloves - Lace Cuff at Ringside.com
I got them for 89 dollars so they are certainly on the higher end of the price spectrum, but i figured if they last me 1-2 years and make my hands not hurt anymore i come out far ahead.
The gloves i replaced were another pair of ringsides, i believe they are called the safety training model, those are the ones you see in the picture below along with my SSF bag gloves.

Ok now onto the subjective portion:
I love these gloves. Right out of the box you can feel they are high quality. The leather is thick and soft and makes the safety ringsides feel like they are paper or imitation leather. The stiching looks much more solid also

The lining is a perforated coolmax lining which feels great and does not get sticky after long periods of use. The hand compartment is a bit snug but i like the fit if you have a monster hand you might want to look for a different glove though

The padding is much thicker than my previous training gloves were when new and you can see from the side shot below just how much thicker the glove is
I have heard no complaints from people being hit with them as i would expect as they are a soft sparring glove. Top all this off with a one year warranty from ringside. and i give these gloves a 9.5/10 with only the slightly high cost keeping them from being perfect

Those gloves are sweet. I was almost set on getting them, but got a better deal on some other sparring gloves I couldn't pass up. Maybe next time...

No the imf's are foam padding these have layered padding

according to the ringside site the padding is 2 inches thick and its:
The Quad-Layer Impact Foam™ system consists of four molded layers of foam bonded together to create the ideal combinatioin for absorbing shock and maintaining the protective integrity of the glove. The foam composite is then wrapped in a water resistant lining to help keep the gloves from absorbing sweat. With out this seal, other gloves gain water weight which detracts from their ability to absorb shock and shortens their usable life span. We feel that there is no better training glove available.

thanks foxx, i might take a peek at those sometime soon, as of now we are waiting on samples on our next gloves a cleto/imftech hybrid, and a cleto style gloves with 3inch of multilayer padding(not 100%). if i can get some ultimates i'll compare them with our new samples and see what points we can take from the ultimates before production kicks in.
