About Product:

The gloves arrived well packaged in the original factory plastic bag, and initial impressions were that these are "really" nice gloves. It was obvious that the gloves are professional grade, and the design, materials, and workmanship are "very" high quality. The thick, full grain, quality leather has a texture and firmness that is similar to a Fairtex BGV1 glove, on the face, knuckle, and thumb areas of the glove, and a medium length cuff with a semi-soft broken in, yet very durable, well padded feel to it. The gloves are very well padded in the fist, thumb (attached), wrist, and on any contact areas. The padding thickness is 2.5"+ over the knuckle area, and the composition is what I consider to be optimum for protection to your hands, and consistent with a well made pro quality training glove, that will also function really well for sparring purposes. The wrist support is "absolutely excellent." Stitching is high quality, it does not wander, and it is reinforced in all stress areas.

The graphics are micro injected with the "Ringside" logo on the back of the glove hand, the "IMF Tech" logo on the thumb, and a nicely embroidered "Ringside Boxing" cloth patch sewn to the cuff. The labels are well done, and asthetically pleasing to the eye. The internal lining is (Tricot) a soft, smooth, snag free material that envelopes the hand and wrist, and the internal wrist area is stitched compartmentally to prevent any shifting or clumping of the internal padding. This is an additional plus in the design, as I do not believe the type of internal padding used would be prone to clump anyway.

When you slip your hand into the glove, it feels like you are putting on a well made, well padded, professional grade glove, and the internal hand compartment structure and support is "excellent." When gloves are available with internal hand compartment sizing in addition to weight in ounces, I normally wear an x-large hand compartment size. These gloves only come in an ounce weight sizing, and fit my hands in a nice snug, secure, manner, but they are by no means too tight or overly constricting. These gloves should provide a nice fit for people of almost all hand sizes, and will take a little time to break in. I believe moisture wicking capabilities will work well, and excessive heat build up should not be a problem. The glove has the grip bar feature, fits very well, and making a fist feels very natural.

And, now on to the topic of innovative design features. This model includes the following:

* The design starts with an anatomical mold constructed to the shape of a real fist with 2.5" of protection over the knuckles.
* A specialized formula of liquid foam is then injected into the mold.
* The foam is allowed to cool and forms a single layer of thick, durable, pre-curved, protective foam padding.
* The padding provides 2.5" of protection over the knuckles.

The Ringside IMF Tech Training Gloves are not new to the market. They have a solid reputation for being at the forefront of professional quality training gloves, and seem to be one of the most universally well liked, and well respected, training gloves on the market today. I think that anyone who is interested in getting a top of the line, high quality training glove, would be hard pressed to not like these gloves.

I would rate these gloves as a very solid 5/5 stars on overall quality, design, features, and price.

Really great review. One question: Is the patch on the wrist easily removed?

Wow! New colors for the IMFs. I've had mine for almost 3 years and they still feel good on my hands. I love their knuckle protection and wrist support. They are mos def my favorite glove. Great review man, let us know how they hold up for you.

I am not sure about the patch removal question. They appear to be stitched on and may have glue underneath. It may leave tiny holes where they were stitched to the leather.

Send a PM to "Spend Money" and ask him. He removed the patches on his IMF's and he even posted a photo of them on a recent thread in G&E Discussion. Here is the link to that thread with the photos.

MULTIPLE glove comparison pic!!!

Yeah, I was going to order the IMF's twice, and put it off because the black color in 16oz. was out of stock and back ordered until December 11th. Finally I said, "what the heck" and decided to go with the white. I thought they would be all white, and was really pleased that I ordered the white when they showed up and I opened them. I like the white glove, and black cuff colors.

I think if Ringside posted a picture of the white lace ups with the black cuff, they would probably sell a lot more of that color.

Is there some sort of bar across the top of the wrist section? What is that?

Congratulations on your purchase!

Hey, thanks. It is padding sewn into the back of the cuff. When you lace up the glove, it wraps around the back of your wrist, so it not only pads, but also provides additional wrist support. You definately need to get a pair of these. They are really nice gloves.
