REVIEW: Datsusara MMA bag

Review: 脱サラ MMA Hemp Training Bag - Available at http://www.dsmma.com

note: Datsusara (脱サラ) is an expression meaning to quit being a white collar worker/salary man. I.e. Sara = sarari (salary man) I'd guess. They do it with alot of things. Pokemon, is 'Poketo Monsuta' it's just taking the first two characters of the words then joining them to make one word out of two, common thing. Datsu is a term of omission or change you could say.

Back to the review.

I had long been using traditional bags that were around, duffell bag (the plastic kinda feel) material, normal bags you would use to take luggage abroad. True story on my first judo class a month or two ago the zip on one of the bags my dad had bought in japan, it somehow got caught on my nogi.com shorts and wouldnt untangle. So I had to rip the zipper off so i could get the bag to unstick from me, it was, shitty to say the least, and my dad wasnt happy.

Regardless I wasn't going to pull a phil baroni and use a garbage bag for training gear (youtube it) and was considering getting the Datsusara MMA Bag after seeing it. I had been wary about hemp products for a while, noting that I had looked at importing hemp bread after seeing sherk use it on UFC All Access, but hemp bread was banned. It also stopped me from ordering a Groundforce Kimono because I was not sure if any of it would go through customs, Australian customs do suck.

So i rang them up and after a few queries it was revealed that it wouldn't be a problem so I immediately contacted codell23 - the owner of DSMMA - and queried about getting one.

Paid for it, and it arrived today thankfully. I am still out with a wrist injury (that doesnt seem to be getting better *sulks*) but I took some photos with my gi in there (I remember someone asking for a photo of that) and just a few random shots to illustrate the amount of space in there.

(just a closeup to see the fabric)

(I was trying to make a photo that would illustrate the massive amount of room in the bag, it's about 2 hands lengths high. PLENTY of room. I could easily fit my gloves, wrestling shoes, cup, 2 gi's, water bottle, protein shake bottle, glasses case, hand wraps, all in the main compartment alone. There literally so many pockets it's kinda insane.

When to the point, it's a good concept. Gear gets stinky, and I believe Codell23 said you can wash the bag since it is hemp. It does breathe, and it's an asset to anyone who trains MMA or Kickboxing/Boxing the like. It's just an overall good product.

Can't wait to get back to Judo and have something nice to put my gear in that won't breed bacteria badly. ewww.

Overall: 10/10. I only have one gear bag, so this gets a 10. Cannot complain.

Please visit DSMMA.com for details on purchasing the bags.

ps: I hope Chris (codell23) will contact me when he has his hemp GI's available, I'd love to buy one of those.

120 bucks for a bag? Good thing my house is only 30 seconds from my training facility. I go there and leave with my gi/rashguard on =]

I will buy the shorts when they're available!

alright I'm cracking down and buying one of these. Two solid reviews and the only complaint is the price. Thanks for the convenient link of purchasing.
