Icon1 Review: SD Titan Flex Alloy Cup

My old supporter has started to fall apart due to years of abuse so I decided to get a new one. As I was placing my order, I saw that SD has a new alloy cup so I decided to give that a try as well.

Shock Doctor Titan Flex Alloy Cup

The alloy cup is almost the same shape/size as the Flex cup (of course, it lacks its flexibility). It looks pretty nice (I know that's really low on the features list for a cup) and gives impression of a product of high quality.

I have used it a several times in combination with SD X-FIT Supporter and find the combo much more comfortable than my previous supporter/cup (some generic model). I am used to wearing a cup, so it might have something to do with it but I found the alloy cup to be great fitting and of a really "low profile" for a cup. Compared to my old cup, it has a much nicer fit that doesn't make me look like a (complete) weirdo when wearing VT shorts.

I am not much of a stand up guy but I do a lot of half-guard and leg locks where wearing a cup is a must (at least for me), and I must say that I'm really pleased with this product. If you're in a market for a steel/alloy cup, give this one a look. To me it looks like a good alternative to a standard thai steel cup.

Saw those and was thinking about getting one. Have heard about other regular SD rivets getting busted when hit hard.

How heavy is it?

Heavier than a plastic one but that's hardly noticeable when you put it on. I've been using this cup for the last 4months and I have nothing but good things to say about it.

Well damnit - I'm still waiting for some dude on here to finally post a review of the nutty buddy on the thread I created. Guess no one had heard of them yet, so no one here has one.

Didn't want my hog to be the ginuea pig .... hahaha
