I take great pride in our Kimonos. We always
look for ways to improve the uniform.

We have been very fortunate to have people
try the product.

Thank you!

My Padilla & Sons gold weave came in on Wednesday and I love it!! As soon as I pulled it out of the box I knew it was a great gi. The pants fit perfect and I only had to shrink the top a bit (size A3). Also, I've read where the sleaves were too wide but that wasn't the case at all. Everything was just perfect and I can't recommend this gi enough. I also had a chance to roll in it and it was very soft and comfortable. Incidentally, I also received an Atama Mundial #5 the same week (birthdays are awesome) and I can honestly say I much prefer the Padilla & Sons. The embroidery was great as I'm a HUGE fan of sharks. the logo wasn't on the gi near the stomach which I wish it were but overall I'd pick this gi any day. Actually, I'm going to keep an eye out and order another one as soon as my size is restocked.

Having rolled in it 3 or 4 times now, I have to say I'm very happy so far. Can't wait to see how it holds up. Here's me in the gi after getting my first two stripes this past weekend.

The patch on the left hip is the club patch.

very nice, congrats! How do you feel the pants fit after washing? I washed mine last night in cold water and tried them on and they seemed to have shrunk some. They still fit fine but the cuff opening at the bottom feels like it shrunk.

The pants fit very well.

To be honest, I'm at the top end of the size chart for A5 and I have fat thighs. So I'm really happy they fit so well after the first few washes. They were originally way to long, but shrunk about 2 inches on the first wash. I will be very happy if they don't shrink anymore.

I accidentally shrunk my 'preshrunk' koral pants and had to buy some jukado pants as replacements. I'm not falling for that one again.

Note for people who like patches and stuff:
It seems they don't put the embroidered shark logo on the beltline anymore. You can see it on the pics from the website, but if you look at Fozzy's pics, it's no longer there. There is still nice embroidery on both sleeves. And there is one tiny patch on the lower lapel and one on the pants. I like the low-key design.

The gi feels much softer than my Koral Classic but not quite as soft as my instructor's Lucky (sorry, these are really my only points of reference.) It has the same quality construction admired by previous reviewers. I was a little disappointed to find about 5 loose threads between the gi and pants. I trimmed them with nail clipper and hopefully this won't present any further problems.

A note on shrinking. Fozzy found it hard, I didn't. I think Joe advises people to be so cautious because if you shrink too much, too fast you're screwed. I washed it once in cold water. About 5 hours later the gi was still wet under the armpits behind the collar so I tossed it in a hot dryer (against joe's advice,) for about 15 minutes. The gi is now shrunk to just about the perfect size for me. If it shrinks a little more over the next couple washes, I'll be fine. It'll never see the inside of a dryer again.

My only real complaint is one I have about every gi I've ever tried: the drawstring. I ordered an A5, that's for people up to 275lbs. I'm about 255-260 and I pretty much max out the drawstring. And when you're short on drawstring, it comes undone a lot - especially if it's made out of gi material. This is why fat guys always have their asses hanging out of their gi pants. I'm getting all my gi pants drawstrings replaced with rope-style ones which are longer. I just don't see why this isn't done by manufacturers. No big whoop.

I haven't hit the mats in it yet, because I have to get the club patch put on the back. After a month or so, I'll let you guys know how it wears. I'm pretty rough on gis, because me and my training partners are so big. Should serve as a good torture test.

Thanks Joe and thanks G&E for recommending what appears to be a superior product at an excellent price.

(As a note on price, the total for shipping to Nova Scotia and duty at the border brought the total purchase price to about $120.)
Thats funny about the drawstring. My Koral drawstring is way too long for me lol.

Thats weird that you managed to shrink them. I have always washed my gis on hot, and dried them on various heat settings but while my atamas shrink forever, my koral never changes.

Maybe they use the same length of drawstring regardless of the pant size, so only big guys find the problem. The Korals were on the small side to begin with, so it was only a little shrinking. I've lost 15 lbs since I shrunk them and I can nearly wear them again.

Still very pleased with my Padila and Sons Gold Weave. I figure when the Koral kimono gives up the ghost I'll buy a P&S in blue.
