Not really given that calling them a ripoff would require them to come from a different factory. I'm talking at the actual factory level. Several makers (not sellers/retailers like Primetime, I mean the actual companies making the stuff) in Pakistan offered the same glove around the same time a few years ago.

I've sparred standup with these and my partner didn't have a problem. I didn't go harder than 50%, though.

vjvj,

I was just wondering if you were still using the Hybrids? I would also like to know how much wider they are than your hand? The picture makes it seem like about 1/2" or maybe a bit more. I have the same gloves and have what appears to be about the same extra width. I'm trying to figure out if the extra width means I should go with a smaller size or if it means the gloves are just made wider than they need to be. BTW, great review.

Any help would be appreciated.

never had a problem with the extra width--- i do have big hands in x-large though-- --with your handswrapped you might not feel any difference

Maybe I should but I am a bit worried the length will be too short. What do you measure around the knuckles stu3ufc? How much extra width do you have on the sides?

Sorry for showing up so late, and thanks to stu3ufc for answering most of the questions for me ;)

I still use the Hybrids now (same pair) and they are holding up great. I agree that the extra space is nice for wraps (which I wear 99% of the time I'm training).
