Kombat Muay Thai Shorts review
I just woke up from a nap and watching UFC on my PC so I thought I might as well as do another review. I've been meaning to do one for these shorts for a while but just forgot.
I ordered them from muaythaistuff.com and I must say the customer service was OK. I actually had to request my tracking info since they didnt give it to me after a week of waiting. They are straight from Thailand so of course they are Thai sized, shipping is somewhat expensive for how many shorts I bought (5), and it took a little over 2 weeks to arrive. I noticed that the bigger the sizes are the more likely the are out of stock or are made to order. So smaller guys will have way more to pick from than us heavies. I went in knowing what to expect ordering from a Thai company so I can't really complain.
They look really nice and feel very comfortable. The waistband is nice and snug and have yet to loosen up even after multiple washings over a 6 month period. I ordered a Thai size 6L which translate into a size 38-40 waist. I'm 5'11" and I fight professionally at 230lbs. I thought the cut would be a little shorter similar to Fairtex but i find they are very long. The Fairtex shorts which are wide and short. The opposite of the Kombat Shorts. The Kombat MT are actually the longest shorts I've ever seen in my size, I actually have to fold the waist over to get them above my knee or wear them to my belly button so I'm thinking maybe these shorts are better suited for tall and lean fighters in their respective weight categories. I'm not an expert on body types so I could be wrong.
The material is made out of a nylon satin like material. They feel and look really nice, the material is similar to the ones used on the Fairtex MT shorts without the Fairtex price which is good for me since I can buy a few more shorts for about the same price. IMO the durability isn't as good compared to the Fairtex but I paid a lot less for the Kombats. I found after some really hard rounds of training/sparring they would pill and some of the designs came undone. The actually shorts however don't have any popped stitching.
Kombat has multiple designs of their shorts at multiple prices. I spent from $9.00 - $18.00 for each shorts not including shipping. So I think if you look on the site you'll find a lot of designs you'll like in your size not including the other big name brands they have up. I actually found a lot myself in my size but I wanted to stay under the $100.00 dollar mark. I spent $65.00 on the actual 5 shorts and like $30.00 for shipping. It's a good value seeing as how most shorts are gonna be around $30.00 - $40.00 a pair not including shipping. This was my first order with MuayThaiStuff.com but it won't be my last. I hope to make another order in the near future.
I give them an 8/10 -1 point for not being too long -1 point for material durability.
