KING curved Thai Pads

I bought these at the KING Muay Thai shop at Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok. I paid 2100 baht for the set. I have used these for about 50 rounds. They are Large size, but are smaller than Twins or Windy Large.

Pros:
I like the curved design. It took a few rounds to get used to. I have to hold the pads a little closer to my body so that the kicker gets the proper angle. They have a nice sweet spot in the center of the curve. The pads are packed very tightly. They are lighter than Twins or Windy large pads. They have the option of removing the top strap, making them a single strap design. The handle has a nice curve and is very strong.

Cons:
The leather is not the best grade. The dye is leaching into my wraps. The KING label peeled off the first time I used them. The metal loop on the wrist straps are rusting. The padding is too dense for unconditioned students.

I rate these 6 out of 10.

Nice review... To be honest, I expected a little bit more out of King products. I wonder if the new Top Kings will be any better?

Me too. I was really excited to get these pads, but they are not what I expected. Maybe Boon Sport can make a pair of curved Thai pads...

I am going to Fairtex Pattaya in a few months. I want to pick up a pair of their new slightly curved Thai pads.

Maybe get a pair of the new Top King pads.

Haha, now you're just trying to make me jealous!

Hey if you don't mind sharing, what's you're background? Are you a trainer, pro-fighter?

Have a great time in Pattaya Ryukyu, and if you do get those pads, let us know.

I'm a trainer now. I lived and competed in Japan in the mid 90's. Now I live in the Washington DC area and spend my summers in Thailand.
