HSU Judo Bag

http://www.heimas.com/productdetails.php?product_id=123

I just purchased and used the HSU Judo bag on my 5 day cruise (fun cruise, BTW...the Bahamas = teh r0xx0rz). And I have to say, for the price, you get a really nice product. I purchased the largest size bag (31" x 15" Competition size) thinking I'd need extra room for all my clothes/stuff for the cruise...MAN, was I surprised at how big that bag actually was...it's comparable in size to your traditional "army duffle bag." I literally fit EVERYTHING I needed for 5 days into that bag.

I e-mailed HSU regarding the construction and material. The small and midsize bags are made of HSU's double-weave material and the bag I got is made of their single-weave material. It's very tough for a single-weave, but very soft (I compare it to my HCK single-weave BJJ kimono). It only comes in blue, which was fine...it only helped me find my bag in baggage claim easier. The straps are actually judo black belts that are double-stitched on. So overall, we're talking a very tough bag...gi material and belts.

As I said earlier, I'd fit all my gear into it for my trip. 2 jeans, 2 khaki slacks, my suit, 6-7 shirts, 6-7 wife beaters, 6-7 boxers, 3 pair of shoes, my overnight bag, 2 beach towels, 2 board shorts, 3 tank tops, and 3 pair of cargo shorts...all amounting to literally over 60 lbs of clothes/stuff. Not to mention other misc crap my girlfriend asked me to stick in there because she didn't have enough room. All that and I still had quite a bit of space to fit maybe 2-3 more beach towels if need be.

That said, it was TOUGH...I carried it on my shoulder like a regular duffel, I even turned it up vertical and wore it like a backpack (kinda big and cumbersome, but my shoulders were getting tired from lugging the full weight around on each shoulder...and all the stitching held up just fine (especially during debarkation, when we were literally just standing there for an hour waiting.)

So for regular use now, other than just travel...I can fit both of my BJJ kimonos easily in it. There's still a bit of space so if I really wedged...I can probably fit all my Muay Thai gear into it.

Anybody who needs a very inexpensive (about $40.00 with shipping) roomy, versatile, and durable "holdall" then I'd recommend this bag...especially as an alternative to all these Koral, Atama, War Kimono BJJ gear bags which (to me having purchased the same type of produce, but branded for Judo and not BJJ) now seem very overpriced...

*I'll put some pictures up when I figure out my sister's digital camera*
