bubba-- yes - velcro closes the pocket. not quite as sturdy as the velcro pocket closure on nogi shorts, though.

These are great shorts and they stay dry and feel very light while training in them. Also like how there is a loop hole for the drawstring to through which makes them easier to tie.

I love my Black Hayabusa's......love em. I didn't get white because.......I dont really wear white, usually black/red theme !
