CSI makes MMA bag gloves... and I have a pair... they seem just like competition gloves except harder and the padding is more angular. Kinda weird.

What's to like about the "volar" y-thingy? What does it do?

^ I can't really tell you whats to like about it. On the site it says, for maximum Grip....and I think they just wanted to be different in hopes to make more sales. But yah, I don't really mind the V Polar system.

Yeah, I've seen them, and I still have no idea why people use them. I don't care if Matt Hughes, Chuck Liddell, and Fedor all advocate them: they are wrong.

Nothing protects your hands like a good old fashion boxing/MT bag glove. Bag work is not the time to look cool mmametro. Bag rounds are for conditioning and power, PROTECT YOUR FUCKING HANDS.

Are you saying that "Bag Work Lip Gloss" stuff is useless too?

Do special purpose dedicated bag gloves provide more support then conventional 14oz boxing gloves? (worn with wraps of course)

I recently bought a pair of traditional Everlast boxing gloves... Everlast also sells gloves labeled 'bag gloves' and the only difference I could tell was the inclusion of a grip dowel.

(Sorry if this is considered hijacking.)

In general gloves that are marked "bag gloves" are lighter and have the dowel you mentioned. I believe they are also less likely to have an attached thumb...

Sparring gloves are OK for bag use, but I wouldn't use anything with the dowel for sparring.

Sadly, my house caught on fire.....and just had major smoke damage. ALMOST all my gear survived...thank god.....but a lot of them smell like smoke. I've tried spraying febreeze and stuff..on the hayabusa gloves..but it still lingering. I threw away my crappy 16oz gloves and 14oz though...the smoke seemed to have ruined those.

At a hockey site I go to, they have a review section, one of the prerequisites is that you must have had it and tested it for 30 days before you do the review. Otherwise it becomes a "Looky what I got" thread.

leave him alone

there have been worse reviews posted --some without pictures
