Forty Thieves - new design

This is my first real review so bare with me..

First off, I've been a fan of Forty Thieves since they first hit the scene a few years ago. I bought a pair of the the original design in black. I really like the soft material and found them comfortable to roll in. I understand how a lot of people didn't care for them because of the lack of internal drawstring but the size 34 I own fit perfectly.

Well I picked up the latest design in tan plaid and I have to say that I'm more than impressed. These shorts address all the issues of the old style and are now available in I think 2 new colors.
The shorts no longer have the neoprene waste band (which I liked) but now have an internal drawstring (It's a good thing too because I've lost a little weight). The Neoprene in the crotch area has been replaced with a stretchy material very much like the sprawls.

The design is very similar to the sprawls but the they seem to be cut longer and look much better on me since I tend to be quite leggy. There is no elastic in the wast band but it seems unecessary since it has a drawstring. Oh, and a small pocket was added to the inside.

I haven't rolled in them yet but if they are built anything like the last offering, they should be fine.

To conclude, these shorts have almost everything I can ask for in shorts

- extremely light
- split seems
- flex panels
- internal drawstring
- internal pocket
- good fit in the waste and length
- unique styling
- awesome price of $37.95

The only drawback would be the silk screened logo. I would really like to see them go with
an embroidered patch just to finish of the design.

I'll have pics up later.

Ungala the newest design will have a few minor changes. The closure system will be much cleaner and the plaid microfiber is being switch over to a two way stretch plaid microfiber. The whole silkscreened logo will be embroider and will stay the same size.
