For judo, i'd say to stick with mizuno's: eurocomp, double deluxe, or the yawara.
Also, i'd say that Toraki's "personal" gold label jacket is insane. Give em your measurements and they'll set you up. I wanted a lucky gi, but after this....... i'm not so sure my heart can take it. lol

I had a chance to compare my black Lucky to a white Lucky at the TigerBalms competition.

The build quality of the white one (maybe cause it was a previous generation one) was better!!!!

Go for the white Lucky for now till they clear up the problems on the black one.

The feel different that's for damn sure.

can you share how you would take care of this Gi? I am about to get one.

Not everyone likes the look of a bright black gi. I personally hate it. I like a more faded out black gi that doesn't look fresh off the rack.

I do have dye lock at home, I'm just waiting for a few more washes until I treat it.

20vturbo: You can find dye lock at any fabric store. Or, you can soak the gi in vinegar. Just google the instructions for it.

Yeah like BJJ_addiction said you have to set it by either soaking it in vinegar or buying some dye lock. do a search in the G & E section for vinegar and you should find it pretty easily.

Thats cool. I understand not wanting a super bright gi, and I would probably wash mine once before setting it too.

Ehem...

- Black + White Belt = Fashion crime

- Lucky Gi = Target at tournaments (No one goes easy on a Lucky Gi owner)

Wich brings us to.... *drumroll*

- Black Lucky Gi + White Belt = Getting run over in tournaments while looking tacky

Don't take it personal, just my opinion.

Oh and for the other guy who asked about Judo??? Wearing that thing in Judo will get you many friendly ippons
