How to fight cops when you are handcuffed? Jesus H christ, he is probably the dumbest f*cker on this forum. I can just imagine him trying to knee or head butt a cop, then getting stunned, beanbagged, slammed facefirst on the ground, or shot.
Well man, I just want you to know that I support you guys (cops) completely. I've always wanted to serve my country (wanted to be a SEAL since I was, I'm 17 now), but some medicaly issues will probably deny me entry into the Navy, and it's extremely unlikely I could make it into BUD/S due to the dive physical I'd take. So I've been looking heavily into becoming an LEO after college, as most police departments (even the major PD's) in my state don't have a problem with my medical issues (which are minor really)... and the major PD in my state has an excellent SWAT unit from what I've heard.

I can comment on the arm-pit protection because I don't know, but just curious as to why the armpit is such a great target. I've heard that before on this site, but never understood why. It seems to me, that with all of the veins/blood vessels/and the major arterie in your neck, that it would be a much better target, but I'm certainly no expert on stabbing.

The Bracaiel (Sp) artery runs through the arm and there is no muscle under the arm to protect that area.

Yeah, I like to think that the Teams are losing a potentially great operator, but there are so many excellent canidates going through the pipeline that I can't say that I blame them for not wanting to take a potential (in their eyes) risk. Got to graduate HS and finish college before I can go to the Academy, and SWAT would be a long way away (got to prove myself first, but I'm highly motivated so I have confidence in myself). I'm a little unsure of the selection process for SWAT (not really the selection course, but how you go from being on patrol to being on SWAT, the requirements, etc), so do you mind explaining that if you don't mind?

yup, plus if you look at the cut on most vests theres not much armour under the arms, the vest tends to overlap at the sides, but protection usually ends 5" or more below the arm pit, partially for mobility, and partially becuse your unlikelly to be shot / stabed there due to your arm being in the way. everythings built to a budget even protective vests!
armpits, neck, in Krav maga theres a specific defence against a tactic that was used against the IDF, of putting the blade up and under the armour where it ends, around the belly area, and using the vest as a lever to practically disembowel the vest wearer.
against a half awake cop? erm, maybe a crossbow or spear, and run! you will likelly get shot.

I'm sure that some martial art was designed to take advantage of armor vulnurabilities.
